In Space Planning the professional defines circulation patterns – considers numerous design parameters that include the client’s organizational structure & relationships- space allocation criteria- building codes and access for constraints of fixed elements – the layout for furniture and equipment placement- system interfaces- security & privacy issues- flexibility for future space needs.

During the 1990’s the importance of Space Planning was fueled by the increasing rate of organizational changes- the need to accommodate new management strategies to increase creativity & productivity and the on-going demand of integrating new technology into the workplace.
